PROBLEM SPACE
Dooring is a traffic collision in which a bicyclist rides into a motor vehicle's door or is struck by a door that was opened quickly by an occupant who failed to check carefully for approaching traffic.
It causes around 22% of all bike accidents in Boston, which is the second leading cause of cycling accidents in the city. It is also a common trend across major American agglomerations. Of the 50,000 bike accidents that happen yearly in the US, around 10,000 are caused by dooring.
